29.10.2019 About a month ago, Richard Börner left our lab and opened up a new chapter in his academic life. Now that we have gotten used to the fact of his absence, it is time to officially say goodbye.
Richard joined UZH in 2013 as a PostDoc. He has since then successfully developed and driven the research of our group, especially in the area of single-molecule spectroscopy. In 2014 he became our smFRET subgroup leader and was promoted to senior researcher (Habilitant) in 2016. Now, after nearly 7 years, Richard will move on to start his own research group as an independent PI.
We sincerely wish him all the best for his new position as Professor of Biophotonics and Physical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida and hope this professorship will allow him to fully develop his potential.
Richard, we thank you for everything you have done for us over the years. You were a valuable member of our group and always a great colleague!
